Don't feel like feeling sad today - YUNGBLUD
Released: 29/06/22

This song is for bad days, difficult days, or even good ones. ‘Don’t feel like feeling sad today’, is the 3rd single, giving us a glimpse into YUNGBLUD’s upcoming, self-titled album, set to be released on 2nd September this year.
This song is upbeat and positive, something you could easily jump around and dance to despite the fact the lyrics make references to difficult issues such as depression. The carefree, hopeful-sounding track still has carefully thought-out lyrics. They are meaningful with an encouraging message to keep going, a sentiment YUNGBLUD strives for as we’ve seen previously in tracks such as ‘Weird!’ and ‘God save me but don’t drown me out’. There are political lyrics laced throughout, going back to his earlier roots of ‘King Charles’ but with a whole lot of evolution and a much larger community of fans.
The music video adds to the empowering message behind the song as it is full of fans coming together with Harrison (YUNGBLUD), to enjoy themselves. Fans gathered in London to film this and it was shut down by the police (due to overcrowding) but the outcome was definitely worth it.
The music video also accompanies the meaning of this uplifting song perfectly with a sense of inclusiveness and serotonin provided when listening or watching.
There is a balance of pop and rock with a catchy nature due to the repeated chorus, an easy listen, and a great song to add to a positive playlist.
His sound from ‘21st century liability’ may have changed but the genuine, caring nature Harrison has certainly hasn’t. Take a listen to ‘Don’t feel like feeling sad today’ and perhaps it can put a smile on your face.
